Our first original arrangement entitled "Don't Diggity" is a mashup of Ed Sheeran's "Don't" and Blackstreet's "No Diggity."

The Greater Minority (or Gmi) is a 6-piece a cappella group based out of Kansas City, KS tinkering with vocal jazz harmony and medley/mashup form arrangements of popular tunes. The group began at Kansas City Kansas Community College in the Spring of 2015 while singing in choir together and realizing they all shared a common interest in starting a smaller a cappella group outside of the school’s vocal jazz ensembles, to continue singing beyond graduation. The name, “The Greater Minority,” reflects the fact that, as singers in a cappella, we are all pieces (or minorities) that make up a greater entity (the music) and we all need each other to make what we do. Not to mention the fact that diversity and teamwork are very important to the group, coming from various “minority" backgrounds, and everyone’s individual uniqueness and input to the group is what makes Gmi “greater," together.
